DBT & RO-DBT Skills Classes
DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills classes are structured group sessions that teach you coping techniques to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthier ways of thinking and behaving. RO-DBT classes focus on developing skills to improve emotional expression, connect with others authentically, and practice radical openness in your relationships.

DBT Skills Classes are often suited to people who struggle with over-control, whereas people who struggle with emotional regulation might find RO-DBT more effective.

What does a typical
skills class look like?
We have separate skills classes for tweens, teens, adults and parents/significant others. There are in-person and virtual options for the 90 minute classes (which include a break and snacks). Students learn skills each week and use the skills between classes as "homework". Class starts with a "homework review" when each participant shares how they used the skill with the class.
What are the "skills" in DBT & RO-DBT?
Skills classes help clients identify and address maladaptive behaviors that are negatively impacting their self-esteem, relationships, and overall quality of life. Skills are focused primarily on how we are socially signaling with others, developing healthy ways of coping by activating our social safety systems and developing more flexible ways of being that facilitate the kinds of meaningful connections with others that lead to having a life worth living.
